There was conducted this year’s annual RusChlor-held “Thirteenth International Scientific-and-Technology Conference ‘Chlorine and its Derivatives 2019” on the premises of downtown five-star hotel “Baltschug Kempinski” in Moscow on April 09 through 10, 2019.
Association "RusChlor" organized, convened, and held the Conference quite in line with rather a deep-rooted tradition in cooperation with JSC “National Centre ‘Chlorine Safety” and with the joint assistance of Ministry of Industry and Trade, Federal Service for Ecological, Technological, and Atomic Supervision of the Russian Federation, and Russian Chemists Union.
There were participating in the Conference more than 135 people representing 76 legal units including all the 14 Russian chlor-alkali plants that collectively make up the set of the full-members in RusChlor plus 20 legal units making up the RusChlor’s associate membership, which makes the Conference the biggest recent event of its kind. Many prominent engineering companies, equipment, valves fittings, and fixtures vendors, and transport companies from all over the world including those engaged in either production or operation or both of the railway tank-cars or tank-containers have sent their representatives to participate in the conference. In so doing there have participated in the two-day conference the representatives of 24 foreign companies all in all including those residing in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Canada, Japan, China, India, and Kazakhstan.
President of Russian Chemists Union Mr.Ivanov delivered the words of welcome to the Conference’s attendees.
State Secretary, Deputy Head of Federal Service for Ecological, Technological, and Atomic Supervision of the Russian Federation Mr. Rybas lectured the listeners at the conference on the State Policy to be pursued in the field of the Industrial Safety.
State Secretary, Deputy Minister in the Chemical Industry at Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mr. Evtukhov had prepared for the conference the Keynote Address and Report “State Policy to be pursued in development of the Chemical Industry” that was voiced by a representative of the Ministry.
There were addressed the following issues in the work of the two-day conference:
- Production of chlorine and its derivatives in Russia and abroad.
- Designing the chlor-alkali facilities under the Best Available Techniques' paradigm.
- Equipment for use by the chlor-alkali industry.
- The problems that are encountered in bulk transportation of the liquid chlorine.
- The emergencies witnessed in the course of transportation of chlorine, caustic soda, and the products of their processing as thought through with the use of the statistics techniques and comparison analysis of both the main reasons and approaches to problems registered in Russia and abroad.
